Dan Ritter has been the principal accompanist of the Chorus since 2005 when he was part of its concert tour of Sweden and Norway. He is also the primary accompanist for the Nordkap male chorus, a position he has held since 1998, and in 2006 he became Nordkap’s assistant director as well. During his career he has also worked with the White Bear Lake Choral Association and the Metropolitan Boys Choir.
In addition to accompanying choral groups he has performed as a pianist either as a soloist or as part of small ensembles in a number of settings including the University of Minnesota, Thursday Musical, the Calhoun Beach Club, and the Schubert Club. For more than twenty years he has also served as a church organist; he currently plays at Parkway UCC in north Minneapolis. He also gives private piano lessons.
Dan earned a BA in piano from the University of Minnesota and lives in St. Paul. When he has free time from his busy musical schedule he enjoys riding his bike.
